Job summary

Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive business development across Massachusetts.

This full-time role focuses on partnering with agents, appointing new ones, and growing profitable new accounts while enhancing engagement with agency staff and management. The successful candidate will leverage relationships to achieve production plans, execute agency account strategies, and optimize risk and profitability through targeted sales activities and strong industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years sales experience or applicable insurance industry experience.
• Proven ability to cultivate and build effective business relationships.
• Fluent in communicating with agency principals, account managers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Drive top line sales results within assigned territory by planning with agents and Sr. TSM.
• Achieve market share growth and maximize quote/win ratio.
• Build trusted advisor relationships to improve partners’ business performance.
• Execute agency account plans and monitor progress relative to plan.
• Proactively adjust steps to meet agency objectives and business plan.
• Recommend terminating consistently unprofitable agencies.
• Leverage Hanover value proposition to secure blocks of stable business.
• Expand book of business through new appointments and conversions.
• Meet/exceed regional financial objectives: policies, retention, and mix of flow business.
• Gather competitive intelligence and share with internal teams.
• Prospect and meet agency appointment targets.
• Provide Agent and CSR training as necessary.
• Adhere to Sales Best Practices.
