Job summary

Mountain West Insurance & Financial Services in Montrose, CO seeks a Personal Lines Account Manager to support the Personal Lines Department with carrier relationships, policy processing, and client service.

The successful candidate will maintain an active Colorado insurance license, work well in teams and independently, and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and timely communication. Prior insurance sales or service experience is preferred.

• Must maintain an insurance license as mandated by the Colorado Department of Insurance and Mountain West.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a thorough understanding of carrier and agency change procedures and industry specifics.
• Review daily, weekly, and monthly AMS reports and assist with data maintenance.
• Effectively manage follow-ups generated in the Agency Management System.
• Cultivate and sustain quality relationships with carriers and coworkers.
• Ensure accurate documentation is maintained in the Agency Management System.
• Adhere to agency procedures and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Attend mandatory agency meetings and external functions, seminars, and conferences.
• Acquire the required insurance license and complete continuing education to maintain eligibility.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and management.
• Document processing of policy changes, cancellations, and claim payments.
• Review expiration reports to address missed or inactive policies and client accounts.
• Perform additional functions as assigned by management.
