Job summary

Interim HealthCare is seeking a Personal Care Aide/Caregiver in Walker County, GA to help seniors live safely at home. This role offers flexibility, set your own schedule, 1:1 client ratios, and opportunities to build skills through online training.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility assistance, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and companionship, with support from a caring team and ongoing CEU opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and compassion for seniors.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; GA PCA certificate supported by Interim HealthCare.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred and may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to seniors to help them live safely at home.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal prep, shopping, transportation, companionship).
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises.
• Provide medication reminders, document client condition, and notify supervisor of concerns.
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways; participate in activities bringing clients joy.

As a Personal Care Aide/Caregiver, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies

A few must-haves for Personal Care Aides/Caregivers:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and Personal Care Assistant Certificate in GA (Interim can assist with certification)
• One (1) year of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
• Current hands-on CPR and First Aid certification and current TB Screening (within 12 months)
• Valid GA driver’s license, auto insurance and personal transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
