Job summary

Interim HealthCare is seeking a Personal Care Aide/Caregiver in Walker County, GA to support seniors at home with daily living activities and compassionate care. The role offers flexible scheduling, 1:1 client ratios, and opportunities for online training and CEUs.

You'll assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep, errands, and mobility while monitoring client condition and ensuring safety in the home environment. A GA PCA certificate or willingness to obtain certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; GA PCA certificate preferred or Interim can assist with certification.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Strong communication and compassionate caregiving skills are essential.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to seniors at home.
• Assist with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal prep, shopping, transportation.
• Assist with ambulation, transferring, and ROM exercises.
• Provide medication reminders and document client condition; notify supervisor of concerns.
• Maintain a safe home environment and engage clients in activities for joy.

As a Personal Care Aide/Caregiver, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies

A few must-haves for Personal Care Aides/Caregivers:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) and Personal Care Assistant Certificate in GA (Interim can assist with certification)
• One (1) year of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
• Current hands-on CPR and First Aid certification and current TB Screening (within 12 months)
• Valid GA driver’s license, auto insurance and personal transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
