Job summary

UMB Bank is seeking a motivated Personal Banker to build strong customer relationships, learn UMB products, and guide customers to financial solutions that fit their goals.

You will engage customers, prospect for opportunities, and grow the branch's loan pipeline while maintaining accuracy in transactions and documentation. Training will cover UMB products, sales processes, and risk-compliant service.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of retail banking sales experience or other relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain a NMLS registration within 90 days.
• Ability to learn products, services, and procedures quickly and accurately.
• Basic math skills and ability to problem solve within risk parameters/tolerances.
• Demonstrated ability to make personal connections, engage and educate customers, ask open-ended questions.

Responsibilities

• Asking personalized questions to learn about customers' financial goals and connect them to solutions.
• Managing a loan pipeline with focus on home equity loans, auto loans, personal loans, and mortgage referrals.
• Growing the customer base through networking, conversations, and proactive sourcing.
• Learning processes like transactions, cash drawer management, and bank documentation to industry standards.
• Meeting daily KPIs while delivering exceptional customer experience.
• Other duties as assigned.
