Job summary

UMB Bank seeks a Personal Banker to build customer relationships and recommend banking products that support customers' financial goals. The role emphasizes learning UMB's products and sales process through extensive training and mentorship from leadership.

You will develop your own book of business, prospect customers, and provide solutions tailored to individual financial needs, while delivering an exemplary customer experience across branches.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of retail banking sales experience or other relevant experience
• Ability to obtain an NMLS registration within 90 days
• Strong math skills and ability to problem solve within risk parameters
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and educate customers
• Strong business development capabilities to grow personal book of business

Responsibilities

• Asking personalized questions to learn about customers' financial goals and connect them to solutions
• Create and manage a loan pipeline with strong closing conversions through prospecting and cross-selling home equity loans, lines of credit, unsecured personal loans, auto loans and mortgage referrals
• Create sales opportunities and grow the customer base using product knowledge and proactive sourcing
• Learn processes like transactions, managing cash drawer, and completing bank documentation per standards
• Respond to daily KPIs while balancing priorities and delivering exceptional customer experience
• Other duties as assigned
