Job summary

Stop & Shop in Clifton, NJ is seeking a motivated Perishable Manager to oversee Meat, Seafood, Deli, Florist, Produce, and Bake Shop operations. You will drive sales, uphold sanitation standards, and lead a diverse team to deliver customer-centric service.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of supervisory experience in retail grocery, with a preference for a related business degree. Flexibility to work weekends/holidays is required; comprehensive benefits and associate discounts are offered.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in retail grocery.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent years of work experience.
• Highly motivated, results-oriented, and a self-starter with a proven track record of success.
• Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively across different functions.
• Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Meat, Seafood, Deli, Florist, Produce, and Bake Shop.
• Ensure departments meet or exceed sales and profit targets.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety and regulatory compliance.
• Direct, oversee, and evaluate training of perishable department team members.
• Monitor performance and ensure development plans for professional growth; foster inclusion.
• Control turnover by maintaining a positive work environment and culture.
• Manage labor relations and address employee issues timely.
• Deliver best-in-class customer service and ensure well-stocked, fresh offerings.
• Coach for operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
