Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to manage the produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and other perishable sections. You will assist with inventory control, pricing, and customer service while ensuring food safety compliance.

Responsibilities include training associates, maintaining perishable stock, and adherence to company policies. This role emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and strong communication with staff and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with maintaining and protecting financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Follow company policies and SOPs to ensure consistent operations.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using provided tools and guides.
• Train associates in proper perishable presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Ensure safe handling of food and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrence.
• Record inventory levels as requested by the Store Support Center.
• Help address customers' needs and requests promptly and efficiently.
