Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Lead to manage produce, dairy, meats and bakery areas, ensuring inventory accuracy and quality customer service. You will oversee stock levels, merchandising, pricing and training of associates to uphold freshness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using the following tools and guidelines.
• Train associates in perishable presentation, freshness and pricing standards.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns; analyze causes and take corrective action.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and courteously.
