Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dedicated Perishable Department Supervisor to oversee produce, fresh meats, dairy, frozen foods, bakery and related stock. Under Store Manager guidance, you will manage inventory, merchandising presentation, pricing standards and customer service to drive sales and profitability.

You will train and supervise associates, ensure compliance with food handling rules, staging perishable orders, and maintain safe, clean departments.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, inventory, and pricing accuracy.
• Ability to supervise and train associates in perishable departments and food handling standards.
• Knowledge of safety policies, plan-o-gram adherence, and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Perishable Departments: produce, fresh meat, dairy, frozen foods, bakery, and related stock.
• Maintain stock levels and execute correct order guides, recap and rotation practices.
• Ensure cash accountability, security practices, and audible customer service excellence.
• Train and coach associates on proper stocking, pricing, and food handling procedures.
