Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of math and basic calculations required.
• Cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices in perishable areas.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures as outlined in SOPs and manuals.
• Ability and willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling.

Responsibilities

• Manage Perishable Departments including Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen, Bread and bakery items.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using perishable tools.
• Assist in training associates in presentation, freshness and pricing standards.
• Assist in training associates in safe handling of food per rules and regulations.
• Assist in scheduling coverage and ensure store standards are met.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure accuracy of inventory levels and compliance with sanitation schedules.
