Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Lead to oversee Perishable Departments including produce, meat, dairy, and bakery. You will assist the Store Manager with inventory control, merchandising, and customer service to ensure safe, clean, and compliant operations.

Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels, training associates on presentation and safety, and protecting company assets. Prior supervisory experience in retail is preferred and certifications in food handling may be required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year retail experience; 6 months supervisory preferred.
• Lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Local/state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining financial integrity and cash controls.
• Manage perishable departments: produce, meats, dairy, bakery for freshness and presentation.
• Train associates on stocking, rotation, safety, and quality standards.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure sanitation and compliance with safety policies in the Perishables areas.
• Maintain correct stock levels using various planning tools and reports.
