Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Lead for the Perishable Departments to manage produce, meats, dairy, bakery items, and other perishables. You will support the Store Manager in inventory control, pricing, and merchandising while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

The role emphasizes training associates in proper handling of foods, stock rotation, and adherence to company policies. Prior retail supervisory experience and food handling certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with inventory management and merchandise presentation.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using store tools and guides.
• Train associates in proper stocking, freshness and pricing standards for perishable areas.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure customers' needs and requests are addressed efficiently and promptly.
• Assist with sanitation and training in the Perishable departments.
