Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Lead to manage the Perishable Departments, including produce, meats, dairy, bakery, and frozen items. You will work under the Store Manager to optimize inventory, merchandising, and customer service while maintaining safety and asset protection.

The role requires experience in retail and supervisory duties, along with strong knowledge of perishable operations and food handling certifications as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with financial integrity of the store through cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using daily tools and guidelines.
• Train staff in perishable presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns; analyze causes and take corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and food handling rules.
