Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Lead for the Perishable Departments to manage produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and frozen items. You will support inventory, merchandising, and customer service while ensuring safety and policy compliance.

You will train associates in proper stocking, pricing, and safe food handling, and maintain inventory accuracy, aiming for high quality presentation and waste control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee perishable departments including produce, meat, dairy, bakery to ensure freshness and presentation.
• Assist Store Manager with inventory management, pricing standards, and customer service.
• Maintain stock levels using perishable planning tools and monitor markdowns to minimize waste.
• Train associates in proper stocking, rotation, and safe food handling practices.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and safety procedures in all perishable areas.
• Record inventory levels and assist with safeguarding company assets.
