Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Perishable Department Supervisor to oversee the perishable sections including produce, meats, dairy, and bakery. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, compelling merchandise presentation, and delivering high-quality customer service under Store Manager supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels, training associates in proper handling and presentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and food handling rules.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Ability to learn cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposit control and store security requirements.
• Understanding of safety policies and food handling regulations.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in cash accountability and security practices.
• Follow SOPs, handbooks and company communications.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using store tools and guides.
• Train associates in fresh and perishable presentation, pricing and freshness.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns accurately.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and professionally.
• Support Training and compliance with sanitation standards and procedures.
