Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to oversee Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen, Bakery, and related perishable areas in a Florida Mulberry store. You will manage inventory, ensure safe handling and quality customer service, and protect company assets.

You will train associates on presentation, pricing, sanitation, and stock rotation, and help ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling. A high school diploma and experience in retail are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
• Prior lead or grocery store experience preferred.
• Required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume.
• Train associates in perishable presentation and pricing standards.
• Ensure proper safe handling of food and compliance with regulations.
• Record perishable markdowns and analyze causes.
• Accurately record inventory levels and assist in sanitation standards.
• Support Store Manager with scheduling coverage.
