Job summary

Dollar General seeks an individual to manage the Perishable Departments, including produce, dairy, and bakery, under the Store Manager. You’ll help with inventory, merchandising, and customer service while safeguarding assets and enforcing food handling rules.

You will train staff, ensure stock freshness, and support in-store operations. This role requires supervisory experience and certification readiness, with a focus on safe, compliant store practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience.
• Previous lead or grocery store experience.
• Attainment of local and state food handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability, key control, security practices.
• Follow company policies and SOPs, Employee Handbook, and communications.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using current ads, planners, order guides.
• Train associates in presentation, freshness, pricing, safe handling, stocking, rotation, grading, repackaging, markdown recording.
• Record inventory levels, analyze markdown causes, take corrective actions.
• Assist customers to address needs efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
• Assist in operational areas as directed.
