Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department lead to manage produce, dairy, and bakery sections. You will help with inventory, merchandising, and customer service while ensuring safe work practices and asset protection.

The role requires familiarity with perishable stock controls, planogram execution, and staff training. Prior retail supervisory experience and food handling certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with financial integrity and cash accountability.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels and merchandising presentation.
• Train associates in proper stocking, pricing and food handling.
• Record inventories and perishable markdowns, analyze causes.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and safety policies.
• Support other operational areas as directed by Store Manager.
