Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Perishable Department Supervisor to oversee the produce, dairy, bakery, and frozen departments. You will assist the Store Manager with inventory control, pricing accuracy, and customer service to ensure a safe, clean, and profitable store environment.

You will train associates in proper stocking, merchandising, and food handling, while maintaining sanitation standards and following company procedures. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Follow SOPs, employee handbook, and company communications.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using provided tools and guides.
• Train associates in perishable presentation, freshness and pricing standards.
• Train on safe handling of food and rotation of perishable products.
• Record inventory levels and conduct markdowns with corrective action.
• Assist with addressing customers' needs efficiently and promptly.
• Monitor sanitation and maintain Cleaning Schedule compliance.
• Support other operational areas as directed by the Store Manager.
