Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishables Lead to manage the produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and related departments under the Store Manager. You will help with inventory, merchandising, pricing, and safe, compliant operations daily.

Responsibilities include training associates, ensuring product freshness, and maintaining stock levels while delivering strong customer service and protecting assets. This role emphasizes adherence to company policies and safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year of retail experience; 6 months supervisory preferred.
• Previous lead or grocery store experience preferred.
• Must obtain local/state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining perishable stock levels and inventory accuracy.
• Ensure safe working environment and protect company assets per procedures.
• Train associates on freshness, presentation, and pricing in perishable areas.
• Maintain cash accountability, key control, and cash handling procedures.
• Respond to customer needs promptly and courteously.
• Follow SOPs and company communications.
