Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to manage produce, meat, dairy, frozen, bakery and related perishables in our store. Under the Store Manager, you will oversee inventory, display, pricing, safety practices, and customer service to drive fresh, compliant merchandise.

You will lead and train associates, maintain accurate stock levels, and ensure cash controls and security procedures are followed. Retail leadership and food handling certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using various planning tools and guides.
• Train associates in proper presentation, freshness, and pricing standards for perishables.
• Record perishables markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and safety policies in Perishable departments.
