Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store-based leader to oversee Perishable Departments including produce, meat, dairy, frozen, and bakery. You will help manage inventory, maintain appealing displays, and ensure quality customer service while safeguarding assets and maintaining safe operations.

The role involves training associates in perishable standards, using stock plans, and supporting the Store Manager with policy adherence and store-wide operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using provided tools and order guides.
• Train associates in proper presentation, freshness, pricing standards, and safe handling of perishable products.
• Record inventory levels and perform proper stocking and rotation of perishable items.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and maintain sanitation standards in the Perishable departments.
• Assist with other operational areas as directed by the Store Manager.
