Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Ability to learn and perform cash register functions to generate reports.
• Ability to review statements and identify trends, expense control opportunities, shrink and errors.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits, and store security procedures.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and plan-o-gram compliance.
• Willingness to obtain required local/state food handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in managing perishable departments and inventory.
• Maintain stock levels using perishable planning tools and sales history.
• Train associates on presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns; analyze causes and take action.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and provide high quality service.
• Enforce sanitation standards and supervise compliance with food handling rules.
