Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to manage the Perishable Departments, including produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and related areas. You will assist the Store Manager with inventory, merchandising, and customer service to ensure safe, appealing, and profitable operations.

The role emphasizes maintaining stock levels, training staff, and adhering to food handling regulations while supporting store profit and asset protection. Retail experience and leadership exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with perishable department management including inventory levels and merchandising.
• Maintain accurate inventory and perform markdowns and re-orders as needed to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Train associates in proper stocking, freshness, pricing, and safe food handling.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and policies within perishable areas.
• Provide excellent customer service and address customers' needs efficiently.
