Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to oversee Perishable Departments including produce, dairy, meat, and bakery, reporting to the Store Manager. You will help manage inventory, ensure attractive presentation, and deliver quality customer service while maintaining safety and asset protection in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include training associates on perishable standards, coordinating stock and markdowns, and ensuring compliance with food handling rules.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math and handle cash accurately.
• Experience with cash registers and generating reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management, pricing, and turnover.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability and security practices.
• Follow SOPs, employee handbook, and company communications.
• Maintain perishable stock levels based on store volume and guides.
• Train associates in perishable presentation, freshness, and pricing.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns accurately.
• Ensure customers' needs are addressed promptly and professionally.
• Support sanitation standards and safety training in Perishable areas.
