Qualifications

• Read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Learn and operate cash register functions to generate reports.
• Review operating statements and identify business trends, expenses and shrink.
• Understand cash handling, deposit control and cashier accountability.
• Know inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Follow safety policies and plan-o-grams for merchandising guidance.
• Comply with food handling certifications as required.
• High school diploma preferred.
• 1 year retail experience with 6 months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity of the store through cash accountability and security practices.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Employee Handbook, and company communications.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using tools and plans (ads, order guides, sales histories).
• Train associates in perishable presentation, freshness, pricing standards, and safe food handling.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns; analyze causes and take corrective action.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and courteously.
• Monitor sanitation standards and train associates in perishable areas.
• Assist with other operational areas as directed by the Store Manager.
