Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Lead to supervise the Produce, Meat, Dairy, Bakery, and Frozen sections. You’ll ensure inventory accuracy, attractive merchandising, and strong customer service under the Store Manager’s guidance.

You will train associates on freshness, pricing, safety, and proper stocking, while maintaining sanitation standards and protecting company assets. A background in retail leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage Perishable Departments including produce, meat, dairy, bakery, and frozen foods.
• Assist with inventory management and merchandise presentation to drive profitability.
• Train associates in proper stocking, perishable handling, and safety standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety compliance, and supervise cash accountability.
• Support Store Manager in customer service and shop-floor operations.
