Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department lead to assist the Store Manager in managing produce, meat, dairy and bakery products. You will help with inventory, merchandising and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include training associates on presentation, safety, stocking and pricing while maintaining stock levels and ensuring compliance with food handling regulations. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain perishable stock levels using store tools and guides to ensure freshness and accuracy.
• Train associates on proper stocking, freshness and pricing standards for perishable areas.
