Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a Department Manager for our frozen and dairy sections. You will lead department personnel, ensure product levels and quality, and uphold Brookshire Grocery Company standards and food-safety practices.

You will interview, hire, train, and develop partners, schedule work, and review performance. You’ll drive sales, manage inventories, and maintain a clean, safe environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED required.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Manager Food Safety certification preferred.
• AML certification may be required where applicable.
• HIPAA certification may be required where applicable.
• TABC/LACT/AATC certifications where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing, hiring, training and developing partners; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance and address issues.
• Review historical data to predict sales from ads and promotions.
• Manage inventory and in-stock levels using item management processes.
• Review P&L, sales, shrink and labor data and report to upper management.
• Maintain and improve sales, product quality and work standards.
• Enforce food safety standards and rotate dated products.
• Promote sales through suggestive selling and attractive displays.
• Greet customers, answer questions and handle complaints with a friendly attitude.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.
