Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to oversee Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen, Bread and Bakery products. You will ensure accurate stock, attractive merchandising, and high-quality customer service, while maintaining a safe work environment and protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience; lead experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.
• Ability to perform math calculations and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain correct perishable stock levels based on store volume using planograms and guides.
• Train associates in presentation, freshness, pricing and safe handling of food.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling coverage.
• Record inventory and markdowns, analyze causes and take corrective action.
