Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dedicated Perishables Lead to oversee produce, meat, dairy, and bakery areas. You will support the Store Manager with inventory, pricing, and customer service while ensuring safe operations and adherence to cash controls and security practices.

You will train associates on proper stock rotation, perishable handling, and planogram compliance, helping the store meet profitability and presentation goals. Retail leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and percentages.
• Ability to learn cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control procedures.
• Ability to follow planogram and merchandising guidance.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using ads, planners, and guides.
• Train associates in perishable presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Ensure proper handling of food and safety practices per regulations.
• Record inventory levels and manage customer requests promptly.
• Support sanitation standards and use Cleaning Schedule for perishables.
