Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team in Plymouth, MA. The role involves assisting in patient prep, instrument handling, and collaboration with the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, possess Meditech and ORM skills, and demonstrate strong concentration and pace in a surgical setting. BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Proficient Meditech and ORM computer skills.
• Ability to concentrate and prioritize in distracting environment.
• Ability to work at an efficient and quick pace.
• Experience in surgical services environment.
• Certification as Surgical Technologist (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Prepares instruments, supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient.
• Collaborates with the registered nurse and perioperative team to implement the care plan for the patient.
• Ensures environmental safety for patients and personnel by wearing appropriate surgical attire and PPE.
• Initiates proper procedure for sponge, needle and instrument counts.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for decontamination and sterilization.
• Serves as a preceptor/mentor to new operating room staff.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
