Job summary

Qualified candidates will have completed an accredited Surgical Technologist program and hold OR technician certification. BLS certification is expected.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Meditech and ORM software.

• Capable of fast pace and efficient work in a surgical setting.
• Experience in surgical services environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates Core Values in all interactions and communications.
• Prepares instruments, supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Collaborates with R.N. and perioperative team to implement care plan.
• Maintains aseptic technique and environmental safety.
• Participates in universal protocol and time-out processes.
• Counts sponges, needles, and instruments properly.
• Cares for specimens and medications on the sterile field.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for decontamination and sterilization.
• Prepares room for next patient and assists in cleaning the surgical suite.
• Mentors new operating room staff and attends ongoing education.
