Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown, OH seeks a Surgical Technician to support operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments and maintaining the sterile field. The role requires rapid, accurate handling of supplies and strong teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred CST certification within 6 months of hire and BLS. Education includes High School/GED; an Associate degree or surgical tech cert is preferred. Minimum one year perioperative experience is suggested.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or surgical tech certificate preferred.
• One year perioperative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub person during operative procedures; assemble supplies and equipment.
• Prepare sterile supplies and perform surgical counts with circulating RN.
• Assist with draping and provide instruments; maintain aseptic field.
• Retrieve specimens and label; report devices and drains to circulator.
• Prepare and care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
