Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Pre Op to support preoperative assessment and planning at our ambulatory centers. You will evaluate cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological status, prepare for anesthesia, and coordinate care per policy to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Requires nursing licensure, ICU/ED/PACU experience, BLS/ACLS within timelines, and PALS when pediatric care is involved. This role emphasizes teamwork and impact across the network.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year ICU, ED, PACU, and/or med/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state nursing licensure.
• Successful completion of BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• ACL S within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification preferred when pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Describe pathology and anesthesia physiology relevant to procedures.
• Develop individualized perioperative care plans and communicate status.
• Provide safe medication administration and wound care support.
• Transfer care and provide accurate hand-off reports.
• Participate in teamwork and daily safety practices.
