Job summary

SCA Health is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp position to join our perioperative care team. You will assess patients preoperatively, coordinate care, and advocate for safety throughout the perioperative continuum.

The role emphasizes collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists and staff to deliver high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications preferred; ACLS/PALS within 90 days as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year ICU, ED, PACU, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• Successful completion of BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS if pediatric care is included within 90 days of employment or certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative status per facility policies and procedures.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe underlying pathophysiology.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and communicate status.
• Provide patient advocacy and education, and protect patient from injury.
• Transfer care and provide hand-off reports to team members.
