Job summary

SCA Health, part of Optum, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in Minnesota. Responsibilities include assessing patients before and after surgery, interpreting monitors, and implementing individualized perianesthesia care plans.

The role requires at least one year in preoperative or PACU settings, current RN licensure, and certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and PALS when applicable. On-site position with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of PreOperative or PACU experience required.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• ACLS, BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment; PALS if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status at intervals per facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement plan including recovery from anesthesia and pain management.
• Transfer care and provide hand-off reports to teammates as needed.
• Document nursing care completely and accurately.
