Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for PreOp and PACU roles in New Jersey. You will assess patients’ preoperative and postoperative status, monitor various systems, and develop tailored perianesthesia plans.

The position emphasizes safe medication administration, pain management, and clear communication across the care continuum. The role requires active nursing licensure, BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS when relevant, with a strong focus on patient advocacy, safety, and quality care within ASCs

Qualifications

• Graduate nursing qualification and active state license.
• BLS/BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification when pediatric care is in scope.
• Clinical pre/postoperative assessment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret noninvasive and invasive monitors and describe pathophysiology.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 rights.
• Provide pain management and maintain patient safety and comfort.
• Coordinate hand-off reports to the care team and transfer patients as needed.
• Educate patients and families about expected recovery and discharge criteria.

Education

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

Current state licensure to practice

BLS/BCLS within 90 days

ACLS within 90 days

PALS when pediatric care is included
