Job summary

SCA Health in Jacksonville, FL is actively seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the PreOp PACU team. You will assess patients’ status before and after surgery, develop perianesthesia plans, and support safe recovery in a busy ambulatory setting.

The role requires a nursing degree from an accredited program, 1 year of PreOp or PACU experience, BLS/BCLS within 90 days, and ACLS/PALS as applicable. A strong patient‑centered approach and effective teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• Successful completion of BLS/BCLS within 90 days or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of ACLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status at intervals according to policy.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe underlying pathophysiology of disease processes.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and implement it.
• Provide hand‑off report and education to patient and designated support person.
• Delegate tasks according to applicable regulations and collaborate with the care team.
