Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp PACU phase in a busy perioperative setting. You will assess patients preoperatively and postoperatively, monitor cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological status, and implement a perianesthesia plan of care to ensure safe recovery.

The role requires an Accredited Nursing degree, active RN licensure, and certifications such as BLS and ACLS (and PALS if pediatric care is involved).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and active RN license.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required when pediatric care is in scope.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification completed within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies and procedures.
• Describe pathophysiology and physiology related to anesthesia and perioperative care.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and implement it.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia across levels (general, monitored, regional, local).
• Provide education to patient and support person about recovery, medications, pain, wound care and expectations.
• Communicate patient status across the care continuum and participate in handoffs.
