Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp PACU role. The RN will assess preoperative and postoperative status, collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams, and support recovery management and patient comfort.

The incumbent will develop an individualized care plan, monitor patient progress, educate patients and families, and ensure safe hand-offs in a fast-paced perioperative setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice; BLS/BCLS and ACLS are required; PALS if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology.
• Develop and implement a perianesthesia plan of care; manage recovery from anesthesia.
• Provide hand-off reports and educate patients and designated support persons.
