Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice nursing.
• Successful BLS/BCLS completion within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days if applicable.
• PALS certification required if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status at defined intervals.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of common diseases and anesthesia techniques.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia in various settings.
• Provide patient education and discharge planning as part of care.
• Ensure patient rights, dignity, and privacy are maintained.
