Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp/PACU role in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will assess patients before and after procedures, manage anesthesia recovery, and coordinate perioperative care with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include monitoring, patient advocacy, pain management, and thorough hand-offs, while maintaining safety and adherence to policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state nursing licensure in good standing; BLS/BCLS within 90 days.
• ACLS within 90 days; PALS if pediatric care is included within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per policies, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic status.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe disease processes.
• Apply discharge criteria and develop an individualized perioperative plan of care.
• Manage recovery from anesthesia across general, MAC, regional, and local techniques.
• Protect patient from injury and ensure pain and comfort management.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 rights of medication administration.
• Provide hand-offs and educate patients and families; ensure privacy and rights.
