Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the PreOp/PACU role. The nurse will assess patients before and after surgery, manage anesthesia recovery, and coordinate multidisciplinary perioperative care within a dynamic ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include monitoring during recovery, ensuring comfort, safety, and accurate documentation, while adhering to facility policies and advancing patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• BLS or BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS if pediatric care is included in facility scope within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe underlying pathophysiology.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement care including recovery from anesthesia (general/MAC/regional/local).
• Protect patient from injury, ensure wound integrity and perfusion.
• Communicate patient status across perianesthesia continuum.
• Provide pain management and safe medication administration.
• Transfer care and provide accurate hand-off reports.
• Delegate tasks per state regulations and maintain competencies.
