Job summary

Surgical Care Affiliates, LLC (SCA Health) is seeking a Registered Nurse in the PreOp/PACU to support perioperative care, assessing patients pre- and post-operatively and guiding anesthesia recovery. This on-site role is based in Orlando.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, 1 year of preoperative or PACU experience, active RN license, and BLS/ACLS (PALS if pediatric care is included). The role offers competitive hourly pay and a pathway for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• PALS course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCAHealth.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic, pain and mental status.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe relevant pathophysiology.
• Develop and implement an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia across settings and protect against injury.
• Coordinate hand-offs and educate patients and families as appropriate.
