Job summary

Springfield Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient care across the One Day Surgery, Endoscopy and Recovery units. You will follow the Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice and document care, including appropriate delegation under supervision.

The ideal candidate holds a Vermont RN license (or compact state) and ADN/BSN, with BLS and ACLS certifications. PALS preferred, along with comfort using healthcare technology and MS Office for charting and communication.

Qualifications

• ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Active Vermont RN license in good standing or compact state license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• PNALS preferred; dysrhythmia knowledge beneficial.
• Proficient with MS Office and clinical technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care following Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Use Nursing Process for judgments and documentation, with delegation as needed.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and policies.
• Cover One Day Surgery, Endoscopy, and Recovery units.

Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will:

• Provide nursing care to patients following the Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, within the framework of the Department of Nursing, and in conjunction with Specialty-Specific Standards of Patient Care.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to make nursing judgments and assumes responsibilities for nursing care and documentation to include delegation of work to other levels of employees.
• Ensure practice meets compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.

This position will cover in One Day Surgery, Endoscopy and Recovery.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
• Active Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing or compact state RN license in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (preferred)
• Basic Dysrhythmia
• De-escalation Training (Required completion at first course offering after hire)
• Procedural Sedation skills (Required within three (3) months of hire)
• Aseptic technique (Required within three (3) months of hire)
• Six (6) months of nursing experience is desirable for specialty areas.
• Nursing Care Knowledge through the lifespan.
• Effective people skills and communication.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office products.
• Proficiency in the use of technology in care delivery.

Salary Range: The base rate for this position is $35.13 - $57.64 per hour. The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education and experience of the successful candidate.
