Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Perioperative nursing, PACU, or pre-op nursing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia, surgical procedures, and post-operative care.
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach with good communication.
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; perioperative nursing certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients in pre-operative and PACU settings for safety and stability.
• Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing histories and explaining procedures.
• Administer medications and manage pain and recovery in PACU.
• Evaluate responses to anesthesia and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other staff to coordinate care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions.
• Maintain infection control protocols and safety standards.
