Qualifications

• Active RN license in the practicing state.
• Experience in perioperative nursing, PACU, or pre-op preferred.
• Knowledge of anesthesia, surgical procedures, and post-op care.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach with excellent communication.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; perioperative certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients in pre-operative and PACU settings to ensure safety and stability.
• Prepare patients for surgery by reviewing histories, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns.
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed; manage pain and discomfort.
• Monitor anesthesia responses and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other professionals to coordinate care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.
