Job summary

Mercy South Registered Nurse First Assistant- Main OR is a professional nursing role focused on perioperative patient care. The incumbent uses the nursing process to deliver care, evaluates outcomes, and coordinates with other departments to ensure seamless surgical services.

The role requires a graduate from an accredited nursing program, active RN licensure, and at least 1 year of perioperative nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Minimum 1 year perioperative nursing experience.
• BLS/ACLS required within first year.
• CNOR certification and/or RN-First Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments and preserves patient rights.
